February 16-18, 2012 witnessed a joint raid through the Turochak District and the Lake Teletskoye basin organized by the State Small Boat Inspectorate of EMERCOM of Russia (GIMS of Russia) – its Altai Republic Department - and the Altaiskiy State Biosphere Reserve’s inspectors.
The key objectives of the raid were to prevent water accidents in the winter time and transport transfers through unauthorized ice roads (crossings).
Special consideration was given to a set of preventive measures including, among others, a State Small Boat Inspectorate visit to the Yailu secondary school (in Yailu settlement), where inspectors conducted a class teaching children the rules of conduct in the winter time. Inspectors also held preventive talk sessions with the locals and fishermen. All in all, 59 talk sessions involving 114 people were held, with 75 information leaflets distributed.
Apart from that, three Turochak District authorized crossings were inspected, with three inspection acts drawn up. The Altaiskiy Reserve’s state inspectors drew up one protocol and issued two warnings. .
Take care of yourself and your family! It’s unwise to take a 5-minute shortcut at your life’s cost!
