At the beginning of July the Altaiskiy Biosphere Reserve will host the International Research and Practice Conference “Children and the Environment: Health, Education, Ecology” held within the framework of the 6th Teletskaya school of youth ecotourism “Guardians of the Lake” and devoted to the 80th anniversary of the Reserve. The key organizer behind the event is the Council of Young Scientists at the Altai State Pedagogical Academy chaired by Vorontsov Pavel Gennadievich, an old hand at the Nature and Children program of the Altaiskiy Reserve and a participant of the 5th Teletskaya school in 2011.
Currently the preparation for the International Conference is underway. On May 18, 2012 Barnaul will host the first virtual stage of the Conference that will bring together childcare experts from Germany, Russia, the Republic of South Africa and the South Korea.
It all started at the turn of the 21st century, when Pavel Vorontsov visited the Teletskoye Lake for the first time as a volunteer of the Nature and Children program. Sub-master sportsman in taekwondo and sports acrobatics, a perfect massage therapist and a kind-hearted man, Pavel easily won the hearts of his disciples from the Altai Republic's social rehabilitation center. They eagerly left their tents every morning to do morning exercises and immensely enjoyed spending time in the improvised sports area under Pavel’s supervision. Pavel worked miracles with his massage, bringing back to life children lost in life and the world and making their eyes shine with the desire to live. Pavel also cured old people and veterans of the Reserve in Yailu settlement, bringing relief to their aching backs, hands and legs.
At present, Pavel Gennadievich Vorontsov holds a PhD in Philosophy and is an assistant professor at the Physical Education Department of the Altai State Pedagogical Academy. Now Pavel’s students and disciples eager to follow in his footsteps come to the Altaiskiy Reserve in summer to help children and adults feel the strength and kindness of the Teletskoye Lake.
As has been noted already, currently Pavel Vorontsov is in charge of the International Research and Practice Conference “Children and the Environment: Health, Education, Ecology”, with its first virtual stage, bringing together childcare experts from Germany, Russia, the Republic of South Africa and the South Korea, to be held in Barnaul on May 18, 2012. The showing of the documentary “The World Called the Lake” will open the virtual conference. The film is the result of united efforts of the Sapsan (peregrine falcon) studio, the Altaiskiy Biosphere Reserve and the public organization “Guardians of the Lake”.
