On March 8-10, 2012 the Artybash settlement of the Turochak district (the Altai Republic) will host the 9th Republican Snow Tourism Festival -
2012 Teletskoye Lake snow rally, the Head of the Altai Republic Cup competition.
The organizers behind the event are: Ministry for Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the Altai Republic, YURTOK ecocenter, Teletskiy ski-board club, EDEN boarding house, BUM-BARASH paintball club, KEDROGOR information center, RITOL mini-hotel, ARTYBASH hotel, SILVER SHORE boarding house, PEARL hotel, THE DUBROVINS’ trade house, GORNO-ALTAISK STATE UNIVERSITY, ALTAISKIY BIOSPHERE RESERVE.
Goals and objectives of the festival:
Promotion of active winter rest.
Promotion of the Teletskoye Lake as a beautiful place for active winter rest.
Attraction of mass tourism flows to Artybash tourist centers in the winter time.
Terms of participation:
- a snowmobile is the entry ticket to the competition, everyone who has one, is automatically
granted admittance;
- snowmobiles must be registered with Gostekhnadzor (State Technical Oversight Authority);
- when registering, a participant must produce snowmobile’s inspection sticker or its technical passport;
- a participant must have a safety helmet and accident insurance;
- a participant is absolutely responsible for his/her snowmobile and all possible injury inflicted on him/herself or damage inflicted on his/her property, as well as injury inflicted upon a third party and/or damage inflicted on their property;
- snowmobile filling and technical servicing expenses as well as board and lodging expenses are covered by participants;
- the race’s entry fee is 500 rubles per participant;
- winners of the rally are awarded with medals, diplomas and valuable gifts.
Track characteristics and conditions of the competition:
Cross-country circle track laid along the Biya river bank with natural obstacles - hillocks, pits, springboards, is about 1km long.
It is a staggered start race. Participants start in accordance with their start orders received during drawing procedure. Judges record the laptime for two circles of the track and time for the special stage.
A special stage involves paintball marker shooting done at the end of the first circle of the track. Participants are given three targets to shoot, with five shots for each. Each missed target incurs a 200 meter penalty lap separated from the basic track.
Each registered participant is given five practice shots.
Winner in each class of snowmobiles is determined according to the-best-time-wins-principle.
Head of the Altai Republic Cup is awarded in the utilitarian (transport) class.
Head of the Turochak District Cup is awarded to the winner among women.

Organizers of the event reserve the right to reconsider the snowmobile classification subsequent to the results of the jury meeting.
Program:
March 8:
Arrival and accommodation of participants in the Artybash settlement. The jury meeting (9 pm, Yurtok tourist center).
March 9 - Snow rally:
10.00 – 11.30 Registration of participants (the Biya bank, close to the Yurtok tourist center). Opening parade.
11.30 – 16.00 Circle track competition. The awards ceremony.
March 10:
Departure.
